#End SARS: We Won’t Alter But Implement Recommendations Raw, Says Gov Fintiri

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state has assured members of the #EndSARS judicial panel that submitted its report on Tuesday that he would not alter but implement all the 13 recommendations contained in the report.

Speaking in Government House when he received the report from Chairman of the committee, Justice Amadu Kobon, rtd, Fintiri said he would punish those who were found guilty and rehabilitate victims and families, adding that, “the government will continue to put a lot of effort to address the security challenges in collaboration with the security agencies for the social and economic development of our dear state,”

Justice Kosol who commended the media for their fairness in their reportage, said the Commission had received a total of 13 memoranda from affected individuals with their documentary exhibits.

According to him some of the victims suffered mental trauma, physical body pains, loss of lives and property, adding that some of the losses could not be quantified in monetary terms.

 

He said the committee hoped the report would be useful to the government and called for the  implementation of the recommendations as “your Excellency may deem fit.”

Responding, Fintiri who commended the committee for their work pledged to ensure full implementation of recommendations submitted by the Commission on police brutality and related extrajudicial killings in the state.

The governor said that the report would be studied and fully implemented by the state government.
