Emir Sanusi In Trouble As Assembly Empanels 8-Man Committee On Fresh Probe

For allegedly violating the tradition, religious norms and values of the people, The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi ll is to face an 8- man investigation committee empaneled by the state House of Assembly on Wednesday.

The 5-member Committee on Public Complaints and Petitions was merely expanded to 8 to do justice the assignment, expeditiously, according to the Speaker, Hon Abdullaziz Garba Gafasa.

A state institution, the Kano State Commission for the Promotion of Education and Culture and an individual, Mohammed Mukthar Ja’en Yamma, from Gwale local government are the petitioners who claim that the emir’s attitude and character was constituting a hindrance to cultural and religious practice in the state.

During the Assembly​ Plenary Session on Wednesday, The chairman, Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Zubairu Hamza Massu who tabled​ the petitions against the Emir before the Assembly, told the full House that the petitioners attached video clips, backing their allegations against Emir Sanusi.
