Authorities of Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital, AKTH, have rescheduled it’s emergency hours outside 2pm to 6pm daily to cut down on electricity consumption owning to the rising cost of diesel to power it’s generating sets that service it’s health community.
The Ag Director of Administration, Mrs Hajara Ahmed, said in a statement, ( above), …” I am directed to inform the hospital community that in case of power outage, the hospital management is constrained not to operate the generator between 2 pm and 6 pm daily( except otherwise authorized). However, emergency cases that arise between the stated hours should be referred to other health facilities in the state…”. She asked Heads of Departments and Ward Managers to comply until the situation improved.
