The People Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate for Saturday election, Senator Jeremiah Timbut Useni has promised to stand by the electorate and protect their votes if they will massively come out to perform their civil right on Saturday.
Addressing journalists at the party secretariat in preparation for the conduct of elections, Useni warned against vote buying, apathy and padding of votes by politicians in collusion with dishonest INEC officials in Jos.
The occasion which witnessed reception for the governorship aspirant, Pastor Margaret Inusa and members of Action Democratic Party, who defected into the PDP, was used by Useni to “thank the electorate for supporting PDP with their votes during the presidential poll”, while urging them to “repeat the performance once again.”
\He said that problems that were reported at collation centres in many places and PDP units in Qua’an Pan, Wase, Kanam and Jos North LGAs where cancelled without good reasons, should be avoided.
“We are working on all these to get justice but on Saturday, March 9, 2019, we are all trooping out again to elect our governors and members of the State house of assembly,”, he said.
“In some areas, there will be re-runs. I understand that some of you are angry and disappointed that your votes did not count in the last election. I plead with you not to do that.
“I will stand by you to protect your votes. Do not be afraid of anyone in uniform, but show them respect. Let us come out in very large numbers and vote again.”
In her response, Pastor Margaret Inusa gave the assurance that she was going to work for the victory of the PDP.
