As Muslim faithfuls across the world celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, the National President of Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, a socio- cultural organisation, Richard Anetekhai, has congratulated the Fugar Muslim Ummah.
Barrister Anetekhai said in a statement obtained by GNN that the Eid-el-Maulud celebration commemorates the birth of Prophet Mohammed and is a day for families to spend time together and praise Allah.
“Let us therefore use the opportunity to bond with our families and community and come closer together in love, peace and unity.”
He noted that more importantly, considering the recent #EndSARS protest, it is time for the people and community to listen more attentively to the children and youths.
“To our children and youths, we hear you loud and clear and that is the reason FPU NEC started work on the Fugar Youth Summit since 2019, with the maiden edition scheduled for 2021.”
According to him, “We have also since 2019 adopted the Fugar Youth Association as an FPU affiliate and recognised the group as the umbrella body of all Fugar youth groups and organisations.”
The FPU National President also used this opportunity to thank Fugar children and youths for their contribution to building a better Fugar and advise them to continue to engage with parents and any relevant authorities constructively, peacefully and eschewing all forms of violence.
Barrister Anetekhai advised parents and all relevant authorities to deal with the children and youths with patience and compassion.
He reiterated his wish for a happy Eid- El- Maulud celebrations to the Fugar Ummah and indeed muslim faithfuls across the world.
Meanwhile, a former Member and Chief Whip of Edo State House of Assembly and former council Boss of Etsako Central LGA, Hon. Pascal Ugbome, has urged all Muslims to pray for national peace as they celebrate Eid-el Maulud which marks the birth of the holy prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
While speaking to Muslim faithfuls in his country home, Ekperi in Etsako Central LG, Hon. Ugbome admonished all Muslim to be preacher of peace anywhere they are and anywhere they find themselves.
“We need national peace at this time, we need economic revival, we need Nigeria to work again and we need to help ourselves to get God to help us at this time. ”
According to him, “May all our prayers be answered on this holy day”
“Our dear Nation Nigeria is going through a very difficult time, I urge us all to seize this avenue to fervently pray that God will restore peace and the glory of our great nation”. Hon. Ugbome prayed.
