Its Oyo Chapter in a statement by its publicity secretary, AbdulAzeez Oltunde, said: “Muslims are enjoined to Pray for our leaders starting from President Muhammadu Buhari, the 36 States Governors, the National and State Legislatures and other appointees in Government for divine assistance in the current WAR against COVID-19 that is threatening human existence. We should remember the frontline Warriors that is the Medical professionals for Almighty Allah’s divine support.”
According to the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON),Oyo State, the Moslem Ummah should carry on with the principles and teachings of the holy month of Ramadan which are perseverance, sacrifice, love, peace,kindness, compassion and peaceful co-existence.
The association in a statement on Saturday by its chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye congratulated the Moslem for the successful completion of the Ramadan.
“It is only when the principles of the season are sustained beyond Ramadan that the fasting period can be given its true meaning”.
“During Ramadan, which is one of the important pillars of Islam,we were obliged to fast,shun evil actions,speak right and show love to one another”
“Above all,we should not draw back in our devotion to Allah,which is the ultimate of our faith”,the chairman added.
Aleshinloye urged Muslims in the country to use the period of the Eid El Fitri to reflect on their spiritual life as individuals and how they can contribute more meaningfully towards the unity and progress of Nigeria.
He also urged Nigerians most especially people at the grassroots level to be conscious of their health by strictly adhering to instructions issued by health professionals and government at all levels, saying the outbreak of Corona virus is a cause for concern in the country.
