Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of a month-long Ramadan fast while urging all Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, peace, patriotism and love for one another as a way of building a strong and united nation.
Expressing similar sentiments are the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming July 8 senatorial election in Osun, Senator Mudashir Husain, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial district and a former governor of Oyo State and national leader of ACCORD party, Sen Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations, Saraki said only tolerance, stronger sense of patriotism and love for one another will help the country sail through the present multiple agitations confronting her.
He called on Nigerians to put love of the country over and above individual and sectional interests and reassured them that the government is working seriously to get the nation out of the current recession very soon.
“I will like to also use this occasion of the Eid-el-Fitri, as I did in my message at the commencement of Ramadan fast, to urge all of us to continue to pray for the quick recovery of our dear President, President Muhammadu Buhari. My thoughts and prayers are always with him for his quick recovery and safe return to continue with the enormous task of nation building”, the Senate President stated.
Buhari in his congratulatory sallah message urged continuous prayers to Almighty Allah for more blessings and progress in our individual lives and the nation.
In a statement personally signed by him, Senator Hussein urge Muslims in Osun state and across the nation to remain peaceful by pursuing peace and ensuring peace particularly as we draw near to Osun West Senatorial election.
“Let’s tolerate one another, work together and be able to harness our abundant resources as a progressive nation. We cannot achieve much with unnecessary disharmony. What Nigerians need now is to move forward with the present change era.
Also, he called on Osun citizens and the electorate to come out en mass during July 8 elections to cast their vote peacefully and eschew violence before, during and after the election.
High Chief Ladoja, while hosting ACCORD party leaders led by the State party Chairman, Alhaja Wahab Oyelade, the State Publicity Secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji, at his Bodija country home admonished the Muslims in the country to imbibe lessons of the fast.
Reminding Muslims of the import of the passages of the Qur’an recited during the Ramadan season, Ladoja prayed that God would support them imbibe the lessons practice them in their lives.
