Edo state branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has kicked against suspension of the nationwide strike by the parent body for two weeks, citing the action as a betrayal of labour movement in the country
According to the state Chairman, Comrade , Emmanuel Ademokun “I weep for leadership. I weep for leadership. Our leaders should have come back to NEC before taking the decision to suspend the strike. We cannot continue to remain in the hands of the few so that when we call on our member, they will heed us. This is unacceptable to us”
For his Trade Union Congress counterpart, Comrade Mr. Marshal Orhue, “The elites and politicians have been mortgaging our future by greed and anti-people policies. Most states are not paying the new minimum wage yet the government has increased pump price of petrol three times. We in Edo state will not accept the move to suspend the strike”
