In a move that promises short-term relief for marketers, bulk buyers, and consumers, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has reduced its gantry (ex-depot) prices for fuel and diesel.
The adjustment comes amid a recent decline in global crude oil prices, easing cost pressures across the downstream sector.
According to the refinery’s latest pricing template released on Tuesday, the gantry price of petrol has been reduced by ₦100, from ₦1,175 per litre to ₦1,075 per litre.
Fuel supplied through coastal distribution will now sell at ₦1,050 per litre, reflecting a slight differential for marine deliveries.
Diesel prices were also revised downward, with gantry rates reduced by ₦190, from ₦1,620 per litre to ₦1,430 per litre.
Dangote Petroleum noted that these prices exclude statutory charges imposed by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Industry analysts linked the price reduction to the fall in global crude oil prices. Reports from the BBC indicated that crude fell sharply to $92 per barrel on Tuesday after US President Donald Trump said that the conflict in Iran would end “very soon.”
The previous day, crude had surged close to $120 per barrel amid fears of prolonged disruptions to energy supplies from the Middle East.
