Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State on Friday ordered a lockdown on Daura Local Government following the report that the wife and two children of the medical doctor who died of Covid-19 in Daura, had tested positive to the virus.
Th governor who had on Friday met with religious leaders and gave permission for Friday prayers in the mosque had to reverse himself immediately and gave the order for lockdown to avoid the spread of the virus
The Kogi state born doctor Aliyu Yakubu had travelled to Lagos and returned to Daura, where he complained of ilness and had to be taken to the Nigeria Airforce Reference Hospital in Daura where he died before being confirmed infected by the virus on April 14.
