The Nigeria Air Force has donated over 140 cylinders of liquid oxygen to two Isolation Centers in Abuja.
In a statement released by Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, he said the gesture was an effort by the Nigeria Air Force in providing support to the Federal Government and the nation to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar who was represented by Air Commodore Gideon Bako, Chief of Medical Services, said the NAF would continue to support the FG’s COVID-19 response, hence the provision of LOX and would avail NAF Medical Facilities for use as Isolation Center if the need arise.
Air Commodore Bako said that the NAF’s LOX Plant at the 103 STG NAF Base in Yola, runs 24hrs so as to ensure uninterrupted and smooth production of pure Liquid Oxygen (LOX).
The Isolation Center at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwawalada and the Department of State Services (DSS) Medical Center, Asokoro, were the beneficiaries of the over 140 cylinder of Liquid Oxygen (LOX), he added.
