The Department of State Services, DSS, has described as false, reports in some media outfits hat its operatives invaded the Central Bank of Nigeria and arrested its governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele.
Spokesperson of the Service, Dr. Peter Afunanya, on Monday said the reports “is fake news” and urged the public to disregard it.
According to Afunanya; “The attention of the Department of State Services has been drawn to the false news making the rounds that its operatives invaded the Central Bank of Nigeria and arrested its governor, today, January 16, 2023. This is fake news and quite misleading. ”
Mr Emefiele, who had been out of the country on annual leave, resumed in his office on Monday.
