Alex Iwobi and a team mate in jubilation after scoring a brace but his joy was punctured by the visitors who forced Super Eagles into a 4-4 draw
Unbelieveable! Nigeria Super Eagles led 4-1 into second half in their AFCON 2022 qualifier with the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin-City on Friday.
At the 90th minute, the visitor had turned the tables on their host and ended the game 4-4 draw.
With a brace from Alex Iwobi and one goal apiece from Naploi striker Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukweze , the Super Eagles had almost wrapped up the thrilling encounter. Sierra Leone pulled one back through Kwame Kree in the 41st minute as the first half ended with Super Eagles leading 4-1.
Super Eagles tried all they could to increase their goal in the second half, but the likes of Ahmed Musa and Osimhen fired blank. And Al-Hadji Kamara’s second goal for Sierra Leone in the 72nd minute turned the game in the visitor’s favour as they capitalized on forced errors by the Super Eagle, following a poor save from Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye before his team mate Mustapha Bundu netted the third.
Al-Hadji Kamara scored the fourth goal for Sierra Leone as the visitors got a deserved 4-4 draw in Nigeria. The return match would take place next Friday in Freetown.
