Prof Nora Daduut
Professor Nora Daduut has been declared winner of the Plateau South Senatorial District by-election conducted yesterday in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. She contested and won on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, having polled 83,151 to defeat her closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon George Daika, who got 70, 838 votes.
She won in four Council areas including Shendam, Mikang, Quaapan and Wase while the Daika candidate won in Langtang North and Lantang South LGAs respectively
The seat became vacant with the death on February 9. 2020 of Senator Ignatius Longjam of the APC and former Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism
