Bello Promises Massive Investment In Culture, Tourism To Create Wealth

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has promised to create wealth and enhance the capacity building of the people through massive investment in Culture and tourism.

The Governor gave the assurance at the weekend during the launch of an Album, by Princess Ohunene Idris, titled Onovave, (the return of Okumatete) in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

“In view of the dwindling resources of the state, we are going to use our rich cultural heritage and our tourism sites to create wealth for our people and generate huge revenue for the state.

Governor Bello while maintaining that there are several tourists sites in the state, called on the younger ones to take advantage of this God given natural resources to build their capacity and become self reliant.

He commended the kogi state cultural troop for their commitment towards ensuring the sustenance of the rich culture of the people, noting that the group has always promoted the rich culture and good image of the state nationally and internationally.

The Governor also promised to always Promote the rich cultural heritage of the various ethnic groups in Kogi state as a vehicle for sustainable development and ensure the unity of the people.

He assured that his administration would strive to put the rich culture of the people in national and international space, adding that the preservation of the culture of the various ethnic groups would continue to top his administration’s agenda.

He noted that the entertainment industry aside creating jobs for the young and old, is also a veritable too in promoting unity among the people and called on it’s practitioners to maintain the tempo.

Governor Bello commended the organizers and originator of the Album for their foresight and hard work, saying that his government would continue to support them to grow their business.
