The Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has lifted the ban earlier placed on religious congregations as a results of the breakout of the Coronavirus pandemic with immediate effect.
The Kogi state commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo in a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja on Thursday, said that the directive of the Gobernor was to allow religious bodies have their normal worship and services.
Governor Bello however, urge religious leaders to put in place the following preventive measures:
1. Sanitizers should be provided for all worshippers at the entrance of churches and Mosques.
2. Sitting arrangements in Mosques and Churches should be done to ensure social distancing.
The Governor also urge Churches and Mosques to make their services as brief as possible in order not to keep a large crowd of worshipers within an enclosed confinement for a long period of time.
He further appealed to religious leaders to continue to pray for the end of the pandemic so that the world can return to normal life and activities.
