Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday led a delegation to meet with his former boss, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Atiku, who arrived at Obasanjo’s residence at about 12:37pm, was accompanied by the former governors of Sokoto and Cross Rivers State, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Senator Liyel Imoke, respectively, among other eminent political bigwigs from northern Nigeria.
They were received by elder statesman, Otunba Oyewole Fasawe before they proceeded to a closed-door meeting with the former President.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Atiku dismissed any political discussions with his former boss, saying it was just a courtesy visit.
“I was not in Abeokuta to see Obasanjo because of 2027. It is a courtesy visit. I’m not going to talk about 2027 or politics. I’m not here because of 2027,” he said.
