Rashford in a last ditch effort saved by keeper Leno
Mc Tominay scored the opening goal on the dot of first half with a Marcus Rashford assist and the aid of a deflection, but the visitors replied in the 59th min with powerful strike from Pierre Aubameyang in the middle of the box.
But for VAR, the referee assistant had ruled out the Gabonese effort. Indeed the equalizer was the result of a shocking defending by Axel Tuanzebe, who gave the ball to an Arsenal player, Bukayo Saka who pounced on it and passed to Aubameyang.
Defender Harry Maguire had cut him off in the penalty box but the Arsenal striker carried on and put the ball past David de Gea into the net. The flag went up, but VAR carried the day. The draw raised Arsenal to the fourth position with 12 points on the table, while Man U went down to number 10 with 9 points.
It was the best for Arsenal any way, as they are yet to beat Man U at Old Trafford in the last 12 visits.
