The immediate past Director of Defence Information, the Nigerian Army, Major General Chris Olukolade(rtd), has called for synergy among security agents in the country.
Major Gen. Olukolade, who was the guest speaker at the second quarterly lecture of the Oyo State chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), called for joint activities and inter-service relationship among the agencies to have a smooth relationship.
The program which took place at the Premier Hotels, Ibadan, the state capital had the theme: “Achieving Synergy Between National Security and the Economy: The place of Effective Public Relations”.
The retired army chief stressed the need for understanding and cooperation among various parts of the country.
On insecurity in the country, Olukolade said there was a need for more sincerity on the part of the leader to tackle national security challenges. He pointed out that everyone should consider his or herself as stakeholders in the national security.
He said: “There is no way to success except hard work. Everybody should practice hard work, discipline, endurance and fear of God. The idea of getting rich quick should be avoided”.
In his keynote address, the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Tribune titles, Mr. Edward Dickson, who was the chairman on the occasion, emphasized the importance of communication in the development of the country.
Mr. Dickson, who was represented by the Business Editor of Nigerian Tribune, Mr.Suleiman Olanrewaju, stressed that, “building a strong brand had everything to do about integrity”.
According to the editor-in-chief, effective brand management is not a project but a continuous process.
“What has made America great is American dream. What is the Nigerian dream?”
