The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the November 16 governorship polls in Kogi state, Senator Smart Adeyemi has advised the candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Musa Wada to refrain from hate speech and campaign of calumny against the incumbent governor Yahaya Bello who is also candidate of APC in the race.
The Director-General stated this while reacting to alleged critical comments by the candidate of the PDP, Engineer Musa Wada on AIT Kaakaki programme.
Adeyemi warned Engineer Wada and his party to desist from making unsatisfactory comments of the person of Governor Yahaya Bello and the party to avoid the APC campaign Council from unearthing the atrocities committed by the former government of the PDP , saying he has a enough dossiers that will permanently nail the party.
He added that, Engineer Wada is just parading himself as the candidate of the PDP when the issue of authentic candidate is pending before the law court urge him to face his crisis and to leave the APC alone.
He condemned the allegations of Engineer Wada that the APC was privy to the attack on the venue of the PDP primary election, advising him to look inward for the problem.
He added that the ruling APC government acted against the practice of the previous administrations of PDP which had created an army of thugs, stating that Governor Bello has made the youths the drivers of his government.
Adeyemi stated that his choice of dumping his former party PDP for the ruling APC which he initially received knocks from his Journalists colleagues was his desire for the people to witness transformation and even development across the state.
” I used to be a strong exponent of power shift from the East to the West and Central. I have to change all the struggles when I toured the entire Igala Kingdom and I discovered that there was nothing nearer to modernity in the zone. There was no electricity, pipe borne water even when they are surrounded by streams and rivers, dilapidated schools and no modern houses, except shanties and mud houses.
” And I said why should leaders be wicked to their people. With huge government resources at their disposal , they could not bring social amenities to their fatherland rather they took joy to freight our common patrimony to another states where they think their selfish investments would not be identified.
” Based on the comments of Engineer Wada that both the West and Central votes are insignificant to his winning the election, which means that people of these descents are inconsequential, therefore I urged his running mate Sam Aro and the DG campaign council Representatives Tajudeen Yusuf for the mark of respect for their people to resign their positions.”
” We in the APC need not to join issues as the total transformation of the state by governor Bello and his ruling APC has already endeared him to the very fabrics of the hearts and souls of kogi people who are asking for early arrival of November 16, to give the PDP and Engineer Wada a technical knock out.” He assured.
