The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, on Monday, following a meeting of the NWC at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

According to the statement, the NEC meeting will provide the platform for the party to nominate a substantive National Chairman, following the recent resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

“The National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will be held on Thursday, 24th July, 2025, at the party’s National Secretariat. A formal notice of the meeting has already been dispatched to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” Fuanter stated.

The acting National Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, presided over an emergency NWC meeting shortly after officially assuming office on Monday.

Dalori’s assumption of duty follows the directive of President Bola Tinubu, who named him acting chairman pending the NEC meeting that will ratify a new leader for the ruling party.

Ganduje resigned from the position on Friday, paving the way for the leadership transition ahead of the NEC’s formal deliberations later this month.
