The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has approved the appointment of 15 aides, including Yusuf Dingyadi, a former journalist with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa Service, who will serve as a Senior Special Assistant on Media.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the APC National Secretariat. The move is aimed at enhancing administrative coordination, policy formulation, and stakeholder engagement at the national level.
The list of appointees includes three Special Advisers: Senator Danladi Sankara (Political Matters), Daniel Oritsegbubemi (National Assembly Matters), and Dr. Sorochi Longdet (Research, Strategy, and Planning).
Those appointed as Advisers include Jibrin Surajo (Community Engagement), Paul Domsing (Special Duties), Suleiman Bukari (Intelligence Coordination), and Prof. Taiwo Ajibolu Balofin, who serves as Honorary Adviser on Diaspora Coordination and Mobilisation.
A team of Senior Special Assistants was also named to oversee various operational areas. They are Imran Muhammad (New Media), Mildred Bako (Civil Society Organisations), Yusuf Dingyadi (Media), Enenedu Idusuyi (Protocol), Ismaila Mohammed (Conflict Management), Zarah Onyinye (Public Relations), Adaku Apugo (Inter-Governmental Relations), and Obinta Juliet Chinenye (Youth Mobilisation).
The statement noted that the new aides are expected to leverage their professional experience to support the National Chairman in discharging his duties and advancing the party’s objectives.
Dingyadi’s appointment comes just months after his resignation from a similar media role within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A veteran journalist with years of experience, Dingyadi has held various communication roles before his recent defection to the APC.
His appointment is expected to strengthen the APC’s media and communication strategy at the national level. Party stakeholders have described the selection as timely, expressing optimism that Dingyadi’s expertise will add significant value to the party’s public engagement and information management.
