The Chief of Staff to Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and associate professor of Political Science, Dr. Gbade Ojo, has said the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal and Director General of National Intelligence Agency,Ayo Oke, is a welcome development.
Dr. Ojo, stated this on Wednesday in an interview with newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He said: “It is a welcome development in the sense that the general impression was that President Muhammadu Buhari had been using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to fight opposition members. With this step, the critics had been proved wrong.”
According to him, it shows that the war against corruption does not recognize whoever you are or the party affiliation.
The associate professor at the University of Ilorin said: “Though that of SGF appears belated, you take your time and ensure that you have your facts right not just allegations on the pages of newspapers”.
Continuing, the former Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters said: “Asking the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to head the committee that will investigate the matter is good because the vice president is not just a pastor but a man of integrity and professor of Law. It us assumed that he would do the right thing”.
