West and Central Africa’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has announced the resumption of all flight operations effective Friday, April 25, 2025, following the suspension of the industrial action by workers of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and other labour unions in the aviation sector.
Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo of the airline expressed appreciation to its customers for their patience and support during the disruption.
“We sincerely thank you for your patience, understanding, and unwavering support throughout this challenging period. Your resilience and trust in our brand mean the world to us,” his statement read.
Air Peace also lauded the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, for his decisive intervention in resolving the strike.
“We commend the active and decisive intervention of the Honourable Minister, whose leadership and commitment were pivotal in resolving the impasse and restoring normalcy in the aviation industry,” the airline stated.
According to the airline, Keyamo’s swift engagement with stakeholders, transparent approach to dialogue, and dedication to the stability of the sector demonstrated his deep understanding of the critical role aviation plays in national development.
His efforts, it added, not only facilitated a timely resolution of the strike but also reinforced his broader vision for a safer, more efficient, and investor-friendly aviation environment in Nigeria.
Air Peace was the only domestic carrier that suspended operations during the two-day strike which began at midnight on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, citing safety concerns.
Aviation experts say the airline’s decision to halt operations highlights its unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and world-class service delivery.
The airline advised passengers with reservations or inquiries to contact its customer support channels for assistance with rescheduling or flight-specific concerns.
