The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has further rescheduled its 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting from March 13 to May 15, 2025, citing the need for further consultations and the conclusion of outstanding congresses at various levels of the party.
National Secretary, Sunday Okoye, explained that the decision followed deliberations among key stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees (BoT), the PDP Governors’ Forum, and the PDP National Assembly Caucus.
According to the statement, “Following emerging issues, including the need to conclude our pending Zonal, State, L.G.A, and Ward Congresses as well as to allow for further consultation to ensure a hitch-free conduct of the meeting, the NWC after due consultation with leaders, stakeholders, and relevant organs of the party has decided to shift the NEC meeting to Thursday, May 15, 2025.”
The PDP National Working Committee (NWC) has, since August 2024, continued to postpone the NEC meeting expected to discuss some issues bedeviling the party.
The NEC meeting initially scheduled in April 2024 for August 15 was postponed to October 24 and then later rescheduled to November 28 before it was postponed to February 13, 2025.
Last month, the party’s governors and its BoT, further rescheduled the NEC meeting to March 13, 2025.
