AFCON: Nigeria Super Eagles Pound Sao Tome Hawks and Parrots, 10-0

For the first time in 20 years the Super Eagles have registered their highest goal haul in continental football when they pounded roasts Sao Tome in Morocco 10-0 at their group A encounter on Sunday

Right from the 9th minutes through to the 92nd minute it was a goal rain for the Eagles.  Victor Osimhen opened scoring in the 9th, then added three others at the 48th, 65th, 84th minutes; Moses Simon scored in the 28th, while Terem Moffitt scored a brace at the 43rd and 60th minutes; Oghenekaro Etebo scores in the 55th; Ademola Lookman in the 63rd; and the the final one at 92nd minute through a penalty by Emmanuel Dennis.

The Eagle however bagged a  yellow card to Ola Aina who was later replaced by Abdullahi Shehu.  Ahmed Musa also replaced Moses Simon.

Osimhen the Napoli star with his goal hawl now stands  above Kanu (12 goals), Amokachi (13 goals) and Okocha’s 14 on Nigeria’s all-time goalscorer chart.

Osimhen is now just a goal behind Odion Ighalo (16).

Only last Thursday Guinea Bissau had drilled Sao Tome 5-1 last Thursday.
