Former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Comrade Chris Akomas has declared the Government House, Umuahia, vacant, saying the All Progressives Congress (APC) would occupy it soon.
Akomas stated this while speaking to our correspondent after he attended a caucus and extended executive committee meeting of the state chapter of the party in Umuahia, the state capital.
He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government in the state had not only failed to deliver on its numerous campaign promises, but had also not admitted that it had failed.
The APC chieftain said with its abundant resources, the state was lagging behind many others with less resources in infrastructure, social amenities, job creation and quality roads among others.
Akomas noted that the way out of the situation was election of the APC at all levels in the state in the 2019 general election, adding that the people could no longer endure the hardship.
“All hands must be on deck to achieve this purpose. Allowing the party to continue ruling the state means we have mortgaged our feature as a people in the hands of few individuals,” he argued.
The former deputy-governor, who described himself as a grassroots polititian, appealed to the people to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as a “prelude to effect the needed change.”
He, therefore, condemned any attempts by either individuals or groups to cause disharmony in the chapter, saying perpetrators of such acts must be fished out and sanctioned accordingly.
Speaking on the out come of the meeting which attracted many members from both within and outside the state, he said the resolutions were very critical to the development of the chapter.
