The Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has invited the contractor handling the state new Government House at Ogurube Layout in the capital, Umuahia to a meeting in his office.k
Ikpeazu gave the invitation during an inspection visit to the site of the project which was started by his predecessor in office, Senator Theodore Orji representing Abia Central district at the National Assembly.
Explaining that the meeting will afford them the opportunity to discuss the modalities for payment for the project, he added that the work would resume as soon as possible.
“We intend to come back here to recommence work in a few months time. Abandoning it is not an option”, he said after commending the predecessor for initiating the multi-million Naira project.
Ikpeazu, who admitted that the project, when completed will be enormous and befitting for the state, added that the work will continue gradually and be completed before the end of his tenure.
