Kogi D/ Governor Tasks NLC Over Anti-Corruption Fight

The Kogi state Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba has charged the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) to join  hands in the fight against the corruption monster  being pursued by the Buhari led administration.

The Deputy Governor gave the charge while speaking at the 40th Anniversary celebration of NLC held in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital at the weekend.

Achuba said the civil service as the engine room of government at all levels is the most effective platform that could be used to check corruption in the system.

“The civil service is the major organ used for implementation of government policies and programmes and if honesty and sincerity is being embraced by the civil servants in the discharge of their constitutional duties,  corruption would be drastically reduced to the barest minimum” the Deputy Governor assured.

He said at 40 the NLC has come of age to even produce who should  lead this country to the admiration of all in attaining positive result that could bring similes on the faces of citizens.

He commended the leadership of the Organised Labour in Kogi assuring that the present administration in the state will not rest in its oars to continue to pay more attention to the welfare of workers in the state.
