No Automatic Tickets for Gov Ikpeazu, others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State has said that there would be no automatic tickets for its aspirants, including Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, for the 2019 general election.
The surprise position is coming against the backdrop of a gale of adoption of the governor by various stakeholders for a second term in office is sweeping across the state.
This was contained in a communiqué issued and signed by members of the State Working Committee of the party, at the end of a meeting at its secretariat in Umuahia, the state capital.
Reading the seven-paragraph communiqué, the state Chairman of the party, Sir Johnson Onuigbo said the position was in line with the state Charter of Equity and the party’s zoning formula.
Onuigbo, who said in line with the above, there shall be a level playing ground for the aspirants , added that the party had resolved to do away with imposition of candidates on the electorate.
He urge the members to remain loyal, faithful and continue to have confidence  in the chapter leadership, reiterating the suppremacy of the party as contained in its constitution.
According to him, the committee passed votes of confidence on the governor based on his excellent performance so far, and on himself for transparency and effective leadership.
