Chairman, organising committee of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally in Abia State, Hon Acho Obioma has said that President Muhammad Buhari, VP Yemi Osinbajo, National Chairman , Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and senior party officials are expected to grace the occasion meant to begin the process of effectively planting the party in the state and Southeast.
Obioma stated this while addressing newsmen after a meeting of stakeholders of the state chapter of the party at its secretariat along Azikiwe Road, Umuahia, the state capital.
He alleged that since the inception of the state administration over two years ago there had not been any visible changes in the life of the people despite the huge resources available to the government. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s best was not good for the state, he said.
According to the former member of the House of Representative, the challenge against the administration was not personal but aimed at correcting its wrongs and saving the people from hardship.
He stressed the need for the people to join hands with the party at all levels to ” liberate them from the bondage and misrule of the administration before it worsens further.”
Assuring of the success of the November-scheduled occassion, the former federal lawmaker commended the leadership of the chapter for its vision and focus.
Speaking earlier, the state chairman of the party, Hon Donatus Nwankpa said the meeting was called to brief the stakeholders on the level of preparation for the rally.
Maintaining that it would be the first of its kind in the South East, the former member of the state House of Assembly, pledged the loyalty of the chapter to its national leadership.
Similarly, the Media Adviser to former governor Orji Kalu for the South East, Hon Maduka Okoro dismissed insinuations in some quarters that Ndigbo were being marginalised by the Buhari administration.
