A non partisan civic movement, the Polling Unit Ambassadors of Nigeria (PUAN), is set to unveil a mobile application towards transparent and accountable polling processes nationwide.
The group’s Ambassador General, Captain Dabas Suleiman and the Secretary General, Prince Osa Osaghae, said the non-partisan civic movement is dedicated to protecting the integrity of Nigeria’s elections at polling units.
The app which will officially be unveiled on the 7th August, 2026 in Abuja, is to mobilize citizens—especially youths to participate in the Electoral process.
“The PUAN App empowers Nigerians of voting age to voluntarily register as Polling Unit Ambassadors, committing to defend democracy by monitoring activities at their local polling units. With a target of at least 10 volunteers per INEC-delimited polling unit, the initiative aims to provide real-time reporting of electoral activities, exposing voter intimidation, irregularities, and misconduct to both national and international media”.
“Integrity of the polls is key to a free and fair election. With this app, Nigerians can take ownership of the democratic process and ensure that every vote counts,” the statement stated.

The PUAN Poll Project represents a citizen-driven accountability movement that seeks to change the narrative of election monitoring in Nigeria. By leveraging technology and grassroots participation, PUAN is reinforcing trust in the electoral process and combating voter apathy.
