The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) has strongly condemned the brutal attack on innocent residents in the Angwan Rukuba area of Jos, Plateau State, describing the incident as a painful reminder of the persistent insecurity in parts of the region and declaring that “enough is enough” on recurring bloodshed.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Dr Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, speaking on behalf of the Governing Board, expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Plateau State over the tragic incident, which reportedly led to the loss of lives and left several others injured.
He said the Commission is profoundly devastated by what he described as a senseless act of violence, stressing that the attack has brought immense grief to families and communities while further undermining peace efforts in the state.
Dr Tsenyil extended the Commission’s sympathies to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Plateau State Government, bereaved families, the injured, and the resilient people of the state, urging calm and collective resolve in the face of repeated security challenges.
According to the statement issued by the NCDC Media Department, the Commission condemned the attack in strong terms, noting that the continued loss of innocent lives in Plateau communities is unacceptable and must be urgently addressed through coordinated action by security agencies and stakeholders.
The Commission emphasised that sustained violence poses a serious threat to peace, development, and social cohesion across the North Central region, warning that failure to act decisively could deepen instability and humanitarian concerns.
Reaffirming its commitment, the NCDC pledged continued support for initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across the region, urging all stakeholders to intensify collaboration to prevent further tragic occurrences.
The Commission prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed in the attack and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
