CAC to Conduct Free Name Registration For 3,500 Small Businesses.

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced the commencement of a free business name registration initiative aimed at supporting 3,500 small businesses across Nigeria.

The initiative is part of CAC’s ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship, encourage formalisation of small enterprises, and reduce the cost burden faced by micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.

According to the Commission, the programme is designed to provide eligible small business owners with the opportunity to officially register their business names at no cost, thereby granting them legal recognition and access to benefits such as improved credibility, easier access to funding, and participation in government and private sector opportunities.

The free registration exercise will be implemented nationwide, ensuring fair representation across states and sectors. Beneficiaries are expected to be selected based on criteria to be announced by the Commission, and the registration process will be carried out through CAC’s approved channels.

CAC encouraged interested entrepreneurs and small business owners to stay informed through its official platforms for details on eligibility requirements, application procedures, and timelines.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and contribute meaningfully to economic growth, job creation, and national development.
