The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Chinedu Ralph Nnebeife on Tuesday, commenced assessment of operational readiness of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army as part of measures put in place to tackle insecurity in Kogi state.
While addressing the troops, Major General Nnebeife praised the professionalism, discipline and commitment of troops of 12 Brigade.
He charged personnel to remain loyal, disciplined and dedicated to duty and sustain the tempo of operations and cooperation with sister security agencies and other stakeholders in order to ensure lasting peace and security within the Area of Responsibility.
The GOC during the visit commissioned projects executed by the Brigade in furtherance of personnel welfare and improved operational efficiency.
Projects inaugurated by Major General Nnebeife included the remodeled Quarter Guard as well as three blocks of two bedroom two family semi detached Senior Non Commissioned Officers Quarters.
He also inspected the renovated National Youth Service Corps Members Lodge and expressed satisfaction with the standard of work done, commending the Brigade leadership for its deliberate focus on welfare and provision of a conducive working and living environment for troops.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government Commander Jerry Omodara Rtd, Commander Nigerian Navy Ship Lugard, Commodore AO Ojo, the Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kogi State Command, Commander CE Aletan, members of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association and members of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army Soldiers Wives Association.
