The Edo State Government has announced a major restructuring of its ministries as part of efforts to enhance governance and service delivery.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Governor Monday Okpebholo approved the creation of new ministries and the revival of defunct ones, bringing the total number of ministries in the state to 28.
According to the statement, the restructuring is aimed at aligning the state’s administrative framework with Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, both of which prioritise improved coordination, economic growth, and people-focused governance.
“The reform is designed to enhance administrative efficiency, improve coordination across critical sectors, and strengthen the capacity of government to deliver effectively on its mandate to the people of Edo State,” the statement read.
The restructuring marks one of Governor Okpebholo’s most significant policy moves since assuming office, reflecting his administration’s drive to streamline governance and accelerate development across key sectors.
