The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has approved a major redeployment of senior officers across the country, including the appointment of a new Corps Secretary and several Sector Commanders.
He said the exercise affects top-level leadership at the national headquarters and zonal formations of the Corps.
Under the new postings, Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) G. Ntukidem has been appointed Corps Secretary, moving from his previous role as ACM, Personnel.
Other key reassignments include ACM J.W. Toby, now Zonal Commanding Officer, RS11HQ Osogbo, and ACM I. Abubakar, who takes over as ACM, Policy, at the headquarters in Abuja. In addition, ACM A.M. Hassan now heads the Technical Services Department, while ACM A. Sanusi, who recently completed a course at the National Defence College, assumes duties as ACM, Manpower Development.
At the sector command level, CC J.N. Alexander moves from Anambra to Delta State; CC B. Asekhauno takes charge of Anambra Command; and CC Y.T. Etuku shifts from Kebbi to Kogi. CC D.B. Apaji now leads Bauchi Command, CC R.M.Z. Abubakar is posted to Kebbi, while CC A.P. Longkam takes over in Yobe. CCs S.O. Ayodele (Benue) and N.I. Ezeoma (Abia) retained their current postings.
The redeployment also covers 61 other Corps Commanders nationwide, spanning Operations, Policy, Administration, Logistics, Training, Research, Data Management, and Medical Services.
According to Mohammed, the exercise is designed to “reinvigorate the operations of the Corps” and improve service delivery in line with the FRSC’s mandate of safer roads and stricter compliance with traffic regulations.
He urged the newly appointed officers to bring renewed energy and commitment to their assignments.
