Chief Ojei
It was a moment of banters and accolades for the Association of Capacity Development Consultants of Nigeria as it listed its achievements .
This laudable development was recently disclosed in Lagos by the Association’s President,Chief Augustine Anonyai Ojei at the award ceremony in honour of the 60th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria(I CAN),Chief Davidson Chizioke Stephen Alaribe.
Ojei who commended the association’s for the milestones achieved over time,said it was as a result of their devotion and commitment to professionalism and excellence.
Ojei further said:” Our association comprises professionals from diverse backgrounds, including Accounting, Public Relations, Management, Marketing, Procurement, Healthcare, and Information and Communication Technology. Many members have built careers in various fields before transitioning into human capacity development, particularly training consultancy.”
The foremost accountant added that as individual consultants, they have collaborated with prominent professional bodies, mostly through their district societies and chapters.
“We have consistently provided training services to public sector entities and corporate entities in the private sector, including financial institutions, across Nigeria and beyond, extending to West Africa, South Africa, among others,” he said.
Ojei further stressed that the focus of the association is to bridge the gap between theoretical instruction and practical application in the corporate world.
He disclosed:”To achieve this, we design and deliver capacity-building programmes, including seminars, workshops, and conferences tailored to meet client organizations’ workplace needs.
We have made valuable contributions over the past two decades.”
Ojei disclosed that the association’ s journey towards greater relevance had not been without some challenges,adding:’The Association has faced challenges with certain government agencies, particularly those sponsored by TETFUND, not approving “third-party” consultancies. We appeal to these agencies to reconsider their stance.”

Chief Ojei commended Alaribe for his achievements as lCAN’s President ,adding, “we appreciate ICAN for presenting Alaribe, a worthy recipient of this award . We recognise his outstanding contributions to professionalism, particularly in human capacity development.”
In his acceptance speech, Alaribe expressed gratitude for being honoured by the Association.
He enjoined the members to continue to uphold the ethics of consultancy/training, service delivery and continual self – development, which he pointed out will enhance service quality.
Also,keynote address titled: Observing Quality Training Service Delivery;The Public Relations, Corporate Affairs Perspective, was delivered by Dr Joseph Okonmah; and Human Capital Development; The Perspective of Professional Bodies and Employers, was taken by Mr Adekunle Ogunsola.
