The Centre for Digital Humanities, University of Lagos (CEDHUL) proudly announces its partnership with Transhumanists Africa to host the Live Events for the highly anticipated Artificial Intelligence Short Film Festival, taking place from November 21–23, 2025.
The festival, themed “African Visions of African Futures,” is the first of its kind to spotlight AI-created short films from African filmmakers and diaspora creatives. Through this groundbreaking collaboration, CEDHUL will serve as the primary venue for live screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and networking events designed to explore how emerging technologies are reshaping Africa’s cultural and creative landscape.
“We are thrilled to partner with Transhumanists Africa to bring this important conversation to life,” said Professor Tunde Ope-Davies, Director of CEDHUL, adding that, “The intersection of digital humanities, artificial intelligence, and African storytelling represents an exciting frontier, and we are proud to help foster this dialogue here in Lagos.”
As part of its commitment, CEDHUL will provide access to cutting-edge screening facilities, promote the festival across its networks, and work closely with Transhumanists Africa to drive public engagement and media coverage.
The festival aspires to attract leading filmmakers, technologists, students, and thinkers from across the continent and around the world.
Attendees will experience screenings of AI-generated films, participate in interactive discussions, and engage with pioneering ideas about the future of African creativity.
