From Victor Osula, Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the 2025 Rivers State budget of N1.48 trillion to the National Assembly for approval.
The request was conveyed in a letter read at Thursday’s plenary session of the House of Representatives, presided over by the speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.
The Supreme court had ordered the representation of the Rivers State 2024 budget to the Martins Amaewhule-led State Assembly.
But President Tinubu, on March 18, declared an Emergency Rule in Rivers for six months, in the first instant, following the lingering political crisis in the state.
According to the 2025 Budget proposal, N324 billion will be expended on infrastructure, N166 billion for health, N75.6 billion for education and N31.4 for agriculture.
The President appealed for urgent consideration and approval of the budget.
