JAMB Uncovers 585 Fake A’Level Certificates

From Victor Osula, Abuja

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has uncovered 585 fake A’level results during the 2025 Direct Entry registration exercise.

JAMB Registrar, Prof.  Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a virtual meeting with staff of the Board on Wednesday.

Lamenting the worrisome prevalence of fake A/L certificates, Oloyede said measures had been put in place to safeguard the integrity of certificates used to secure admissions. Among these measures, the JAMB Registrar said was the establishment of  the Nigeria Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (NIPED), a platform for managing and collecting data related to post-secondary education in Nigeria.

The Registrar noted that 13 of the forged certificates  were uploaded by the Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) which are being investigated.

Oleyede said four culprits have been apprehended and are currently assisting the police and relevant authorities towards apprehending the ringleaders of these examination cartels.
