Heightened tension has enveloped Kano, as security operatives blocked all entrances to the Emir Muhammadu Sanusi’s Palace at Kofar Kudu, restricting both entry and exit from the premises.
All major routes leading to the palace have also been blocked by security personnel.
The development may not be unconnected to moves to stop Emir Sanusi from attending a royal ceremony, where he is expected to present a staff of office to a new District Head of Bichi.
According to reports, the venue of the event, which Emir Sanusi II was scheduled to attend in Bichi has also been cordoned off by security operatives.
