AfCON Qualifier: CAF Awards Nigeria 3-0 Win, Fines Libya $50,000

 

 

The Confederation of Africa Football, CAF,  disciplinary board has found the Libya Football Federation in breach of Article 82 and 151 of the  Confederation’s regulations in respect of the  botched October 15 match between Libya and Nigeria.

As a result, it “declared the match lost by forfeit by Libya by a score of 3-0,” according to its communication department statement on Saturday.

It dismissed any further motions or prayers for relief. “The Libya Federation is ordered to pay a fine of  $50,000. The fine is to be paid within 60 days of notification of the present decision.”
