Thunder strike has killed a 70 year old Man identified as Abu Yusuf in Abocho, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The incident happened at about 5:40PM on Thursday as a result of heavy downpour in the community.
Our Correspondent gathered that the sad incident has thrown many residents of the community in shock and mourning.
An indigene of Abocho, identified as Dansoho Sulaiman told Our Reporter that Yusuf was hale and hearthy before his demise.
Narrating what happened, Sulaiman said “Someone very close to the family just called as their Imam in Abocho to inform me of his death. There was heavy downpour in Abocho in the afternoon up to this evening. He was outside and suddenly there was thunder lightning.
” He fell victim and died. This has never happened in Abocho community. Although, I heard it once happened in Anyigba, the people of Abocho are in shock with this sad news because he was hale and healthy up to this time. The deceased is the Imam of Angwa community”.
The deceased will be buried according to Islamic rite on Friday.
