It has come to the notice of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) that fraudsters are increasingly using the name of our Director General to prey on unsuspecting members of the public, especially on social media, with claims and services not within the core mandate of the Agency.
In the last three months, several telephone numbers, including +2347032586076, WhatsApp accounts, and social media profiles, have been used to contact members of the public, claiming to belong to the Director General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
The Agency wishes to clarify that its operations are not conducted on social media, and therefore, social media is not the channel for official notifications or directives from the Director General.
