Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, has urged Muslims in the state to sustain the lessons learnt in the holy month of Ramadan.
Ododo gave the advice while addressing newsmen shortly after observing his prayer at Okene Eid-el Praying ground on Wednesday.
According to Ododo, the month of Ramadan is a month that teaches us patience, empathy, love and understanding within and among our people.
“As we mark the end of this Ramadan, I urge each and everyone of us to carry forward the lessons learnt in this month of Ramadan.
“Let us continue to practice kindness, generosity, love and understanding in our daily life.
“The month of Ramadan teaches us to remember those that are less privileged among us and to enable us extend hands of fellowship to those that are in need,” Ododo said.
The governor commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts, sincerity and purposeful leadership in bringing tge country out of the present economic hardships.
“Let me use this opportunity to appreciate Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu our father and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, for his sincere and purposeful leadership under his renewed hope initiative, which has started yielding results.
“We will continue to support the President and all his initiatives so that we can pull ourselves together out of these inherited economic crises,” he said.
The governor commended the people for their immense support during the last governorship describing it as the most peaceful and credible election in the history of Kogi State.
Ododo eulogised the immediate past Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello for being a visionary leader and for laying a solid developmental foundation in which in his Administration is building build upon.
“On this occasion, I want to extend my greetings and warmest regards to all our Muslims brothers and sisters, the entire Kogi State and the nation at large.
“May the blessings of this holy month of Ramadan be upon us all,” Ododo said.
