Again trading on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday shows that key market indicators sustained its gain by 0.47 percent while the Year-to-Date return stood at 22.72 percent.
The All Share Index closed at 32,981.63 against the previous close of 32,827.98 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.367 trillion against previous close of ₦11.314 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 23.81 percent from 218.764 million to 270.855 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 31.55 percent from ₦2.105 billion to ₦2.769 billion in 3,940 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 241.463 million shares exchanged for ₦2.208 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 7.665 million shares traded for ₦0.272 billion, Services, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
United Bank for Africa Plc, Access Bank Plc, FBN Holding Plc, United Capital Plc, and Zenith Bank were the most active stocks by volume. 7Up Bottling Company Plc, Neimeth International Pharmaceutical Plc, Chemical and Allied Products Plc, Linkage Assurance Plc and Ecobank Transnational Incorporation Plc emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while University Press Plc, Champion Breweries Plc, United Capital Plc, Conoil Oil Plc and Capital Hotel Plc topped the losers’ chart. In all 111 companies shares were traded with 29 gainers and 15 losers, while 67 stock prices did not change.
