As wealth continue to exchange hands among investors on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), business transaction on Friday ended with 0.32 percent increase, making it two day gains and three days loses for the first week in the new month of July 2017.
The All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.32 percent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at 20.78 percent.
It closed at 32,459.17 against the previous close of 32,354.78 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.187 trillion against previous close of ₦11.151 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 26.03 percent from 168.513 million to 212.384 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 31.79 percent from ₦3.627 billion to ₦2.474 billion in 3,217 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 162.297 million shares exchanged for ₦1.855 billion. Conglomerates came next with 18.617 million shares traded for ₦0.028 billion, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas, Construction/Real Estate sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Zenith Bank Plc, Transcorp Plc, Sterling Bank Plc, FBN Holding Plc, and Champion Breweries Plc were the most active stocks by volume. Transcorp Plc, Continental Re-Insurance, Fidson Healthcare Plc, UAC Nigerian Plc, and Dangote Sugar Plc, emerged the highest price gainers, while Conoil Nigeria Plc, May & Baker Plc, PZ Cusson Plc, Skye Bank Plc and Linkage Insurance topped the losers chart.
At the end of activities a total of 99 companies stocks were traded, 28 stocks price went up, 17 stocks witnessed losses while 54 share price did not changed.
