Tinubu Orders Investigation Into Error Bombing Of Civilians In Kaduna Village

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday ordered a swift and thorough investigation into the bombing of Tundun Biri village, in Igabi council area of Kaduna State, on Sunday night, by the military.

  80 villagers have died from that bombing and over fifty others are currently hospitalised with different injuries they suffered from an accidental air raid by the Nigerian army on Sunday night.

The Kaduna State Government on Monday said the Nigerian Army claimed responsibility for dropping a bomb on Tudun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State which left no fewer than 30 villagers dead on Sunday.

The scores of villagers in Tudun Biri in Igabi LGA of Kaduna State were killed after a bomb was allegedly dropped by a military jet during a Maulud celebration around 9 pm on Sunday.

 Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, Maj Gen VU Okoro, admitted that the Nigerian Army was on a routine mission against terrorists when the incident happened.

Presidential Aide, Ajuri Ngelale, said on Tuesday that the President sympathised with the victims’ families, even as he directed that the injured be given adequate medical attention.

According to Ngelale, “President Bola Tinubu sympathises with the families of victims, the people and the government of Kaduna State,  over the bombing mishap in a village at Tundun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.

“President Tinubu describes the incident as very unfortunate, disturbing, and painful, expressing indignation and grief over the tragic loss of Nigerian lives.

“The President directs a thorough and full-fledged investigation into the incident and calls for calm while the authorities look diligently into the mishap.

“The President also directs swift and comprehensive medical attention for surviving victims while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased.”
