A professor of Veterinary Medicine and Clinical Virology with Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, in Abia, who announced the discovery of cure for HIV/AIDS, has been invited to Australia to teach the world
Prof. Maduike Ezeibe, the varsity don, whose discovery in early February later became a subject of controversy for months until the Ministry of Health recently held an inquiry with him last month was sent the invitation by the organizers of the 2017 Pharmacognosy International Conference holding in Melbourne, Australia, from July 24-25, 2017.
In the letter, signed by Shusma Reddy, Program Coordinator, the conference expects Professor Ezeibe and his colleagues to come and “accelerate your discovery” and share their research findings with experts from around the world attending the annual conference.
The invitation reads: “ Dear Dear Dr. Maduike C. O. Ezeibe,
“We came across your contribution “In Vivo Antiretroviral Effects of the Medicinal Synthetic Aluminum-Magnesium Silicate”, and thought it would be an excellent fit at Pharmacognosy 2017 International Conference.
“As such, I would like to offer you and your colleagues the opportunity to share your research based on your current research interests.
“We are happy to bring to your notice that Conference Series is hosting the “5th International Conference and Exhibition on Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry and Natural Products” (Pharmacognosy 2017) along with external scientific association researches, academicians, and Pharmaceutical market leaders around the globe, scheduled on July 24-25, 2017 in Melbourne, Australia.”
Speaking to Thisage on the invitation, Ezeibe said, “Accelerating your discovery” means these world scientists have subjected our invention to peer-review and found it worthy.
“The invitation to come to Australia is to come and teach the world.”
The conference would host pharmacognosy renowned speakers such as Dilip Ghosh, Soho Flordis International, Australia; Prue Kearney, University of Queensland, Australia; Yos Banne, Health Polytechnic Manado, Indonesia; Azza ELMedany, Alexandria University, Egypt; Govindasamy Agoramoorthy, Tajen University, Taiwan; and Sunita Shailajan, Ramnarain Ruia College, India.
Apart from accreditation and certification by international related agencies and organizations, the conference promises to link participants with international peer review publications.
Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Prof. Francis Otunta had on February 11 addressed journalists on the discovery of the medicine by a team led by Professor Ezeibe.
Prof. Ezeibe later disclosed that the HIV/AIDS drug was produced with Aluminum Silicate and Magnesium Silicate (Synthetic Aluminum-Magnesium Silicate).
He said, “10 persons living with the disease ‘who volunteered’ were made to apply through their doctor to the VC.
“They were treated daily with the Medicinal Synthetic Aluminum-Magnesium Silicate (50 mg/kg), “The volunteers were subjected to monthly tests for viral loads and CD4-lymphocyte counts.
“With the antiviral effects of the medicine, its ability to reach all cells (as nanoparticles) and the lymphocytes, there is no more hiding place (sanctuary) for HIV,” he said.
Ezeibe also said that he presented the research findings to the World Virology Conference in Atlanta in 2015, and Antonio (Texas) in 2016 and published them in many international scientific journals, including the British Journal of Medicine and Medical Research, among several others.
He said then that he was also about to sign a memorandum of understanding with a U.S.-based Scientific Research Publishing, publishers of World Journal of AIDS, for the publication of his book “How I came about the cure for HIV/AIDS”.
According to him, the medicine was patented in August 2014 in Nigeria.
